About Cape Fear Boat Works

A tradition of quality storage and refit

“As soon as we bought our boat we signed up for their (Cape Fear Boat Works) tropical storm haul out plan. It guarantees our place in the boat yard during the storm and considering the yard is so far up the river, it really is the best place to be during a hurricane.”

Chris and Dan Brock, M/V Captivation

Tucked away on the banks of Navassa, along the Cape Fear River, and just minutes from Wilmington and the Intercostal Waterway, Cape Fear Boat Works is one of the largest growing marinas on the east coast. With a full-service department stationed in the center of 40 plus acres of storage capacity, it’s a one stop for all your boating needs. Did we mention it is an outstanding hurricane hole? With storage rates as low as $5/foot, Cape Fear Boat Works is hard to beat.

Owner Sam Long has created a home away from home at Cape Fear Boat Works with an air conditioned captains lounge which houses a conference table, mini fridge, sink and dishwasher as well as a shower facility. CFBW is a less then 10 minutes drive from grocery, laundry, and restaurants and a courtesy car is available (limited use).

Capt. Dave Gardner, charter boat Vonda Kay & charter boat Queen Jean
“Our livelihood depends on the safety of our boats and Cape Fear Boat Works is the safest yard in Eastern NC. There are not many lifts in this part of the country that can pick my boats up because of the size but also because they are made of wood which is a bit more delicate then fiberglass. The CFBW crew was very thoughtful in their placement and support of the keels.”
